Any brand as long as it has a ceramic iron. Those are the best because they get super hot and the heat is evenly distributed. I have used metal straighteners but they aren't as good.
Also make sure you've got pomade/glosser/product that works best on your hair. I have gone through several years and probably 15 products to find what works best for me.
I have curly hair, not too coarse. I use Citri-Shine Gel on days I am going curly, and Citri-Shine Pomade Glosser on straight days.

well the chi is best on your hair....but the cheapo ones make your hair the straitest

Hi. I bought maxi glide by maxius(straightening) I also bought beyond straight for humidity and I buy Biosilk(silk therapy)smells great and is great for frizz. I even use it on my 5 year old daughter.

I swear by hot tools....cheap-ish...I've dropped mine a bunch of times its half broken but still works. :) I got a new one and I still like my old hot tools hair straightener the best. it was like $25.
