Practically every great lake and the St Lawerence river can be made into day trips from Toronto. Lake Simcoe, Barrie (45 minutes away in former cottage country is nice too with water tours) Lake Coucouching, Orillia, at the north end of Simcoe has nice beaches , theatre and dining as well as boat tours. There's also Casino Rama, just out of town. The Toronto area has many fine beaches, but it's best to check the local papers for which are safe currently. It changes daily due to weather. Someone in here mentioned Centre Island's beaches, the clothing optional beach there is called Hanlon's and is almost always, ironically, the best water conditions in the area.

Lake Ontario is full of beaches. However, as Toronto does lie on it's shores, it doesn't have a hugely clean reputation. I would suggest you travel west to Lake Huron which is full of popular beaches like Grand Bend and Sauble Beach. Another awesome spot is the Elora Quarry which is about an hour south of Toronto in the scenic town of Elora. It's a beautiful quarry filled with water with tall cliffs. You are permitted to do some cliff jumping in certain spots. It's a gorgeous place with a small but nice beach. The water is warm and it's a great place to go for a day trip. $4 a head, however.

Any beach on the shores of Lakes Ontario, Erie, Huron and Simcoe qualify, also Georgian Bay, Rice Lake and hundreds of others. What else are you looking for besides a place to tan and swim?

there's a nude beach on centre island. it's pretty secluded and not buzy (at least when i've gone)

you have to take a ferry across, but there's alot to do on the island so you can make a daytrip out of it. some activities include an amusement park, bush maze, frisbee golf, canoe and bike rentals (you can bring your own bike to the island), some restrauants and lots of grassy and tree filled areas to picnic and chill.
