That's why they are poor and rich people rich. Well, it may seem like rich people are less generous, but the rich donate a lot more to the charity and make more investments that keeps the economy going. For them, the idea is this: when possible, give money to someone who can make it grow, not disappear. For example, you gift money as a scholarship to someone who shows a lot of potential, that person will use it and become successful himself. You gift the same money to someone who has no prospects, they use it up and end up in the same predicament of needing more money.
While it's true that some rich are very stingy, poors can be very stingy as well. But, in general sense, the rich does more for the mankind than the poor is able to. It's just that, they are selective about how they donate their money.

I have no idea where you got this from. I don't that is true at all. I know plenty of poor people who are misers and miserable, and don't care about others at all. Rich people on the other hand, can also vary on the two extremes. But I think "poor" people are generous for more legit reasons, as a whole. Rich people are more likely to donate to charities to bring media attention. If you are poor and generous, then you probably have genuine feelings towards those you care about. Although rich people can also be generous for the same reason, I think it is harder for them to empathize with those they give to because they have experienced fewer tragedies. They have everything they need (money wise), and may donate purely due to pressures from the media and fans.

I can't speak for all poor people, although I qualify as below poverty level. I don't count my riches by how much money I have. I just need enough to pay my bills, utilities, and thithes. Money is not the real highway to happiness as some people think. I am perfectly happy with what I have. The Lord sees to my needs every day. If you were rich, you would worry yourself to death, trying to hang on to it and always afraid someone would try to get it from you by whatever means they could. Extortion, kinapping a member of your family for ransom. No thanks.
I am sorry, I got off track. But if I see someone in worse shape than I am, my first concern is to see what I can do to help that person. The only thing I want in return, if he can help someone else down the line, then please do so.

Poor people have the understanding being "thier themselves" where those rich would laugh yet endorce those who need help which is so odd to me having been the one in the middle . And watching them run to another organization. However I cannot say this for all..(It will always be a problem with me seeing how they run without ansewers, leaving that person being subject to many names and treated like crap.I only wish they knew who it was that ran these organizations before they started on namecalling. (I once was told by Mr. Henson not all are the same" Wise words, and I belive those words are correctI was many yrs hurt, knowing I wasnt rich enough" and cant be like " .I also love how websites and dates can lie, to hurt a person more.People belive in images and web sites (what they read then prof. ) I WONT!

l have met both rich and poor people that are very generous, I do not believe it is a matter of financial position rather the Heart of the person, that makes the difference. the riches man in the world gives millions to charity. and I have had poor people give me half of what they had.

You know, I would love to know the answer to this too. I just literally came off the phone from a friend complaining how poor he is, and that he only got £35,000 from his new payrise, and how he should have asked for more. I'm pretty much living on the breadline. I do a lot of work in Africa, and constantly find what the whats mine is yours sentiment really rings true for the poorest of people. So to answer the question, I guess maybe if you've never known what it was like to have money, you want to enjoy it when you have it (and for those around you to too). Easy come easy go. Money is addictive.

They know what it is like to have nothing and yet think of others while the rich think only of self and what can I get for me. The truly rich are not those that have all the money and power in this life but those that have nothing but have love for others, that have a giving spirit that gives rather than takes for self.
