Companies that produce condoms and birth control give those high percents so you would want to buy them, but then they leave that little percent out so if you do get pregnant then they can't get trouble. It sucks but it's true.

The other 2% of the time for condoms and 1% of the time for birth control pills means that somehow that protection failed in that instant and a pregnancy was the resultant factor. 2%/1% of the time, the girls having sex got pregnant because their method of birth control was defective.

Well, for one, even if they're used properly, they can break. They can get old and tear in ways that aren't visible to the naked eye. They can go off (which is why you always check the expiry date on the package).

Birth control pills can be rendered ineffective by certain other medications (like antibiotics, I believe). And in some cases, they just don't work with the woman's physiology. Life always finds a way.

Also, the companys say that to cover their asses in case someone wants to sue.

Being totally serious, I've known three condoms to break in one session with my wife. I've got five children, none of whom I planned, but there's no way I'd want to get rid of any of them now they're here.

Maybe someone should have told me that black African women generally like large families and are very fertile - it's certainly more than the English 1.8 norm - but I'm not complaining, someone has to try and solve the problem with an ageing population that we've got over here.

with birthcontrol, the other 1% was from them using antibiotics which makes them not work as effectively (on the commercials on tv it even says dont use with antibiotics) and with condoms they often break when put on wrong. i would say use a pill and condom if u want the best.....the birth control does stop pregnancies pretty well, but doesnt fight std's or anything like that.

There is always the chance that the condom breaks or the pills don't elevate your hormones to the right level. In either case, you get a visit from the magic stork.

well with condoms, the two percent is that they can break and you could get pregnant or get something. with birth controls if you keep missing to take your pill there is a chance that you could get pregnant.

No method of birth control is 100% effective, and no manufacturers will dare claim that their product is completely safe, even if it were. To claim 100% effectiveness is a law suit waiting to happen.

you are dealing with a highly microscopic sperm cell here...
it is capable of penetrating through the condoms skin, as good as anything is there is still possibility of very minute microscopic holes.(true)

birth control...nature has ways of overriding it...it just does
(there probably is a more scientific answer, but I think this is pretty d*mn acurate)
