i mean no one still rides around on horse and buggy anymore(except those weird dudes with the beards who's bitches are always wearin bonnets). we don't have sword fights and save princesses or make spears out of sticks and rocks and run around chasing mountain lions in loin cloths. nobody still makes wheels out of rocks or enslaves races anymore. so if everything is under control why do we need religion still? we don't need to trick anyone anymore. lets just have the lizards take off their masks and tell everyone jesus was a hologram and it was all a HUGE JOKE and then we can start coming up with new ways to decieve distort and control the masses. wouldnt that be lovely?

I am sorry to tell you I didn't buy mine, It was free for the asking. And at the risk of angering you, I think this tripe you are spreading is really a SICK JOKE. What's the punch line. Mine is everyone who believes will be going to heaven.

First off let me start by saying I'm NOT a religious person, and I have no affiliations with any organized, or non-organized religion.

That being said, I think that for the most part people are selfish, cruel, violent, and yes even kinda stupid. Everything is NOT under control. Slavery STILL exists. That being said, while millions of people have died for a religion billions have lived in peace because of religion. I don't agree with everything that religion says or does, but it makes the followers happy, and (except for a few prominant examples like the current Muslim situation) peaceful. Case in point: Bhuddist don't want to hurt anyone, in fact they go out of their way to be peacefull, and there are a lot of them out there. Hindi are the same way. Mormons have a laughable religion, and believe some pretty crazy things, but you'll be hard pressed to find an unhappy Mormon family.

I think if religion gives people a purpose in life and a reason to be good to one another, then why not? They're not ALL muslims, or crazy people who murder abortion doctors. Some religious people are the nicest people you'll ever meet, and will help you out when you need it, no questions asked. We should all strive to be that way whether we believe in a religion or not.

The priests will never say something like that because they know that all their fortune was accumulated by lying to the masses through telling them about the torture and hellfire that they will witness if they don't pay 10% of their annual income or a certain percentage of their crops. Other people WANT to believe that the decision that their ancestors made to stick with their religion was the right decision, even though it may be true that their ancestors were forced to believe in such faith, such as the jews and muslims during the crusades.

It has to be all the World Governments that have to put an end to all this garbage. In fact, with all the events going on about the priest sex scandals, the suicide bombings and all that stuff, such an action by the government is to be expected.

When humanity stops fearing death and is no longer bewildered by the seemingly random nature of suffering while alive, then religion will dissipate. Fear of death and dealing with suffering is the cause of the mental crutch known as theistic religion.

The same reason that you choose not to "buy into" the religion thingy...because they want to. It is better than your way of thinking. You need a therapist.

I think people cling to religion because they fear the unknown. By "believing" they think they have the answers. And we all really know, nobody has the answers.
