All for it!
"Love one another as I have loved you"
As soon as these preachers start following this founding statement of the Christian religions, then we will be a lot closer to peace, acceptance and tolerance

I agree with ESweetPea.
I think those people that storm out are deceived. They don't realize how sinful and disgusting it is to God for a man to have sex with another man. If the preacher is doing it for the right reasons and not because he hates gays, there is nothing wrong with preaching against gay marriage. It is what his religion teaches. It is the truth. The person who answered whose name is "God" is seeing the person who stormed out as courageous. I see the preacher as courageous if he is preaching the truth, as long has he isn't trying to spread hate for gay people.
I myself have been tempted with homosexuality. I love gay people. I don't ignore the fact that whay they do is perverted though.

People who walk out of the church when the preacher preaches ignorance should be praised for their courage. The only thing better for them to have done would be to stand up and speak out against what the preacher was saying.
It gives me a feeling of hope to know that something like this is happening in American churches today. We live in America, a country that values the right to dissent. Just as we see debate in American society as a good thing, we should see debate within the church as a good thing.
Whether you agree with these people or not, you should admire them for having the courage to stand up for what they believe.

Wait a minute. I read your question wrong. Sorry. I would probably leave a church if they preached about gay marriage being wrong. I used to go to a church that changed and started talking a bunch of horses**t about abortion, gays, witnessing, political stuff--I don't want to hear about political stuff in church and besides, it's illegal to endorse candidates in church. As a charged political issue, gay issues and gay marriage should fall under the separation of church and state--church doesn't have any business talking about political issues. The two laws of Christianity are: Love God and love your neighbor as yourself. I don't see anything about persecuting gays or any other group of people in those two laws. Love gay people because you know it's right to love humanity and leave that church.

Because you can't help who you fall in love with, when God said man shouldn't lay with man it was when the world wasn't so full. It's not about populating anymore it's about being with a life partner. I'm not homosexual but I feel everyone should have their own choice in everything. Marriage isn't only a religious thing anymore, it can be done by a judge. Homosexual couples are just fine, they can adopt the children already born and give them a loving family.

Well, personally, I think that it is good that the person is reflecting that they disagree in a way that isn't too disturbing (rather than interupt the preacher and challenge him/her to a debate in the middle of the sermon, the person just leaves and let's the sermon continue). We all aren't going to agree on the interpretation of the Bible or other sacred texts. Some Christian denominations frown on individuals forming seperate opinions outside of their stated beliefs and dogma while other Christian denominations are more in favor of the individual forming their own seperate understanding of the Bible and their personal relationship with Jesus. In either denomination I think that a preson who is willing to walk out from a sermon that they greatly disagree with because of their own personal relationship with Jesus and how that has effected their perspective and interpretation of the Bible and its many teachings is atleast still being respectful to those who wish to sit and listen to the sermon because either they agree or they have formed no opinion on their own and would like to just repeat whatever the preacher says as their own opinion. Whether it is about gay marriage or some other issue. My former pastor used to remind us to go back after his sermons and read the texts for ourselves and to read the entire texts, not just the verses he quoted. To pray and ask God to give us understanding on what we read. As he often said "perhaps God will give you a different perspective for your life than he has given me for my life."

The Bible says homosexuality is wrong, but it doesn't mean you shut gay people out. You pray for them.

Many people have a specific notion of what a preacher is to do and what their faith is all about.
Any changes causes consternation

I think religion needs to stay away from social and political issues. I think people have a right to get upset when religion dabbles in areas they don't belong.
