which is better for ms in nano eee or telecommunication, are core better for research?

which branch is better for ms in nano and for having wide options after graduation is eee better than tele as one is taught from bottom up so he knows all things and do univerisites give preferance to core bracnh liek ee over telecommunication in ms with same gre and gpa?pls help
