On a road trip from Chicago to Florida, my husband and I stopped in Bwling Green KY and it was so nice. I loved the town, the people and the time I spent there with my husband. I loved it because he and I were afforded an oprtunity to reconnect and recommit.

My favorite was when my grandparents took me, my brother , and two sisters up to their friend's farm in upstate NY. We had BBQ's, chased pigs, swam in small waterfalls, caught waterbugs, played in the barns, went on hay rides, and met some many other kids. Better than Disney World, Hawaii, Vietnam, Florida, cruises, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, D.C., and about a hundred other places I have been.

My second favorite, I take my wife and kids to the East end of Long Island for a week each summer and we stay at my grandmother's home. She has a home on the water. It is so relaxing. We sit on the beach, collect rocks and shells, scoop up crabs, bbq, and see a lot of family. Its free and we try to do a little as possible.

I went on a cruise 2 years ago. My kids, who are grown and don't live at home anymore, could not contact me. It was wonderful. The best part was that a hurricane made landfall at our port in Florida while we were out to sea so we had an additional 3 days at sea with no ports of call. We had wonderful bright sunny weather, a nice breeze, the bars were open and we had not a care in the world.

Best vacation... My recliner with a stack of books on one end table and the "done" pile on the other. I "was" everywhere, and I "did" everything... The mind is the best place to vacation!!! Went back to work rested, refreshed and ready to get back to the "grind"...

Eurotrip. Germany, France, UK, Switzerland, Austria, and Liechtenstein...for obvious reasons. The cultural immersion was awesome.

Cruise to the Bahamas... it was so incredibly beautiful there. I went one year in May (honeymoon) and the weather was perfect, and the beaches were fabulous. I would recommend it to anyone.

I went to Scotland for ten days for spring break this year, and it was awesome. The country was beautiful, the people were friendly, the whiskey was wonderful, and I didn't want to come home. :)
