Now I would like to pose another in the same vein. Given that most are not willing to give up a day of worship, What is more important, hearing about God (which you should already know) or carrying out his works?

One hour or so of worship is small potatoes in the grand scheme of things. A Christian is supposed to be doing his works at all times. Gathering is needed to recharge and continue to learn scripture in a deeper fashion each time.
It is not a one or the other type of thing.
I have worked with teens, taught Bible School, volunteered with Habitat, worked at shelters, donate to AIDS hospice, bought cows for Central Americans, all the while still finding time for Sunday worship. Other things have to give way. I don't have many self indulgent hobbies, or new vehicles, etc. God didn't give me the time and money to lavish it upon myself.

Worshipping God and giving him Glory is just as important as carrying out his works. You can do both my friend!!!!! You do not have to choose one or the other because we show worship to God by carrying out his purpose in our lives and doing great things. That is a true act of worship --and yes, people, you can worship God outside of a church building!!!! We worked delivering hot meals to homeless people and I was so blessed by that and I felt close to God that day. I felt that I worshipped him as I did that chore he called me to do. Sorry I got so wordy --I just feel very strongly about this!

The highest form of worship is surrendering completely to God!
Then all your faculties become instruments of God and you then know God and carry out His will!
So the most important is right worship & the rest happens!

If you already know about God, then carrying out his works is the most important.

You should always strive to learn more about God, but you don't have to go to a building called a "church" to do that. You can do that at home by reading your Bible. So to answer your question.....IMO......Carrying out His works would be the most important thing you cuold do with you life.

I think that if you truly believe in God, then the works come automatically because He is always present in your heart. A priest once told me that we go to church so that we can go into the world. Obviously, most of us can't live ourlives in a church, but hearing about God strengthens our will to follow Him.

I say they should give it to the homeless, etc. The church supposedly gives it to charity. You have to pay the wages of those who handle the money, give it out, etc. So much is lost, and it would be better, if it was all given by each person, to another.

worshipping Him,,,whatever that entails for you personally, what He tells you to do that day. (probably not the same time every time, some worship with their time, some with learning, some with works, it is an individual thing i believe,,,ask Him, listen and He'll tell you) *i didnt see the first question*

This is a choice that you must make. If you know God then you should do his works but don't forget there is that free will factor so you have to choose.

You can't even prove that there IS a God much less what his works are. So...here's a question for you...

Is it better to do good works to try and appease God or better to do good works to benefit your fellow man?
