Never. An ex's friends and family should be OFF limits.

i guess it depends on what kind of relationship you had with your ex and what kind of relationship you plan on having with their friend. either way you should talk with your ex to see how they feel about it because however long it's been since the split it could still be a little too close to home!

It's more likely that the Friend you're thinking of dating would be the one to get the stick for going out with you. I would get them to talk to your ex about it cos if they're still hurting from the split then they are not going to feel very comfortable with the situation. However they be over it and be ok with you going out with their friend.

I wish all involved good luck lol.
whats meant to be will be...........

Depends if it is a friend, or a best friend.. and i wouldn't appreciate it only bc i would feel hurt and start to think you were using me to get close to my friend.. but i think a safe limit is about 3-6 months! Good luck!

There should be a time period, and more importantly a little honesty, ie, you should tell your ex of your intentions. If you love each other, it'll be alright, if it's a cheap attempt to make him 'pay', should probably avoid it!

why shouldnt it be acceptable. Its all up to the both of you in my opinion. I wouldnt care what anyone else thinks of me if I would start dating my ex again.
