It all depends on how you're handling it. With the keg in cold storage, you don't have to worry about heat damaging it, but there is another factor that really is more important in this case.
Using the standard pumping tap that lets you keep pressure on the beer by pumping air into it, you are constantly exposing the beer to oxygen from the atmosphere. That oxygen affects the flavor of the beer and makes it taste stale after just a few days.
If you use a carbon dioxide tank to apply the dispensing pressure, then you should be good for up to several months.
In the first case, there's nothing to worry about except the effect on the flavor from exposure to air.

LOL I have never thought about that. The life expediency of a keg of beer in my fridge is about the same as a dead man. Beer never lasts to long around my place. I have kept a home brew at room Temp for about 3 months.

Dood, you read my mind...I have been nursing a keg for a couple of months now and need some feedback. My freinds are starting to bring over their own beer for the poker game. I offer everyone but no takers.

The beer still taste like beer. No flatulance or heeving on my end. Making it beer not wasting. So I'll keep look'in to see your answers.

It should be marked on the keg itself. If not, then anything more than 3 months out of the brewery is probably skunky.
