They did not “invent” wine, but they radically improved its quality and cultivation. The Roman army guaranteed a portion of wine to each soldier everyday, so as the romans conquered Europe, they planted and cultivated vineyards, and that’s how wine spread from the Mediterranean into all parts of Europe.

No indeed! Wine was known waay back, if you want to get Biblical about it, Noah is the first man on record to get drunk...otherwise, the Medes, Persians, Sumerians--you name it. Wine has been around forever. They probably had it in the caves, somebody probably ate some fruit that had started to rot and ferment and said, "Hey!" and they started doing it on purpose.

No, wine was around since about 6000 years ago. Archeologists have found pottery jars containing wine in the country of Georgia.
