NO, she can not adopt a baby...do you know how difficult it is for a responsible married couple to adopt a baby? Adopting a child isn't like going to the grocery store and picking out a baby. Besides, an 18 year old isn't financially nor emotionally ready for a child. I think most 18 year old who have had children will agree.

Noone will consider someone that young got adoption, and it's a bad idea too, she has no idea what it takes to be a parent thats why people dont adopt children out like toys to teenagers. The other people are right she needs, to own a home, a car, have a stable income, and its preferred if she's married, and about 25.

Many couples want to adopt. In England the law changed that single people can adopt as well as same sex couples. 18 would be seen as young and a huge assessment would take place to see if she met the targets and had the lifestyle and committment to a child. They would look at the stability she could offer including emotional warmth, money, housing etc.
It is a long process, but we cannot decide for her she needs to follow it up all you can do is support it.

The adoption process takes years. There is also an extensive psychological test they have to take. If a woman is 18 and showing these kind of tendencies, I think that she will have a hard time being approved to have it. If you tell her she should not, that will only strengthen her resolve. Once she sees what it takes to adopt she might think twice on her own.

No, she can't adopt a child at 18, and I don't see why she'd want to. That's crazy. She's fresh out of highschool with no job, and if she does have a job, it's obviously a mininum wage job. She should be in school, not raising a child.

You have to be 25 to adopt a child. If you're under 25, you must be married.

I don't know in what barefoot southern town you live, but I don't think a single eighteen year-old girl is going to have any luck adopting anything other than, maybe, a stray puppy. Tell your friend she has a lot of maturing to do before she is ready to care for a baby human being.

I mean, does she even live on her own? Does she have a job? Does she have any money? Does she have any sort of support system? For pity's sake, she's just a baby herself.

She needs money to adopt and that can be expensive...she needs a job, a house, a car, some stability in her life to adopt a child. She cannot just walk into an agency and say she wants to adopt...there are a lot of factors and she won't qualify.
