The only reason would be for the sensation. The unique feeling of the cob web in the cat's mouth.

cobwebs form from dust and for some unknown reason, cats love dust.. (hence the above licking her duster) My cat licks the dust off blinds.. crazy, but they love to clean!

Maybe your cat saw the owner of that web....they love to hunt and he/she is waiting for the spider to come back out. They have the patience to stalk all day long!

Maybe because a spider web is made of protein, some spiders eat their webs. Or she could like the dust on it.

She is probably just attracted to the movements and instinctively touch it and eat it to get it off her. My cat eats my duster! Crazy Nut!
