It's like riding in a car (except for taking off, landing, and turbulence) Your sister is going to need a lot of help taking care of the 2 year old. Focus on helping her instead of being nervous.

Oh!! Take chewing gum for when your ears pop. Make it sugarless so you can share with your niece.

It'll be fine! One research study indicated that you are 10375 times more likely to be killed while driving to the airport than you are while flying on the plane, odds are 1 in 7.5 million.

Relax first of all. There is nothing to worry about. You'll hear some noise when the landing gear is retracted/entended. But that's just normal. Sit back and relax.

*Chuckles* Find a Doc who can give you a prescription of Xanax- go to the ER and tell them this problem.

I used to do airplane engineering for Boeing at the Everett, Washington State plant. Now I'm old at 45 and terrified to fly- even tho I KNOW ITS THE SAFEST FORM OF TRAVEL EVER INVENTED- EVEN SAFER THAN WALKING- I now travel on Xanax.

Just take my word for it- go to the ER at your local hospital, and tell them what you've told us ok?

Have fun, enjoy the trip
