There are a lot of secular artist out there that say that God has done so much for them but they are doing things that God does not like. I'll give a few examples:

Most to all of the female secular artist out there wear skimpy outfits and talk about being promiscuous(not all of them worship or praise God, the ones that say they do though)

Rappers also do it-

50 Cent first off:

Made a song called P.I.M.P. claiming him as a pimp(God don't like pimpin). Second in his video for the song the females don't have tops on. He even gropes or at least touches one of them on the breast(God don't like touching anyone but your wife). Also he raises his hands at the end of the video as if he's praying(what's up with that).

Three 6 Mafia was at the video awards when one of them(I forgot which one) said something to praise Jesus. But their name is far from holy as well as it praises the adversary.

There are also too many mainstream rappers to list so i'll just say etc.

Just for the record I never called these guys hypocrites. I'm just saying that it seems like it. I'm not trying to judge anyone.

I'm a christian, but I have to admit you are sooo right... but you can't expect people to be perfect, they are human, and they are doing what a lot of people would be doing... They try to have a relationship with God, while making money the wrong way, and that is almost near impossible. They don't want to let go of a good thing, but they don't understand that they can't be greedy, and that God can provide eveything they need. Don't judge them though, because we all can understand, at least, where they're coming from. I know it would be hard for any person to stop all of bad language and things like that in music, when that's what's making you all the money... Try to be understanding, but I don't doubt that you are 100% right...

Remember "Those who are without sin, may cast the first stone...." If you never heard of that scripture, check it out in the bible, and you'll understand a little clearer..

Yes, most Christians are hypocrites in one degree or another. Politics has made this country MUCH MORE christian focused and through the Media, made people believe they have stature, power, all that a new car in the driveway would do, IF they claim Christianity. There is a strong term to remember when you see or hear of such; Actions speak louder than words. All holy books have something that says good behavior towards others is EXPECTED! If 'they' cannot deliver, than they are just as Media Christians- in it for the reputation that follows.

I get your point. Some artist just say they are thanking God because everybody else does it.

Most artist grew up going to church so they believe that there is a God but along the way they started doing music and I guess the industry just makes some artists priority change.

Does 50 cent even claim to be a Christian? Maybe by heritage. But I doubt more than that. If I were you I would get my Rap artists from the Christian station, although that is not a guarantee they will be perfect at least they are trying.

My advice is, stop watching the videos and begin listening to music by people that represent your values.
These people you've described are just out to make a buck, they could care less what type of values they represent as long as it sells records. They'll pray and then grope a woman just to cater to as many people as possible.

It is not just rappers. I suggest you check out the link below to Jack T. Chick's booklet "Angels?" The so-called "Christian Rock" is pretty much the same thing. Rock music is rife with power-brokers who have nothing much but money in mind. The bottom line is the bottom line. Guess it is all in what you choose to put into your head and what you choose to buy.

Yes. They are all hypocrites. They are not truly Christian but they say so because these days it is becoming popular to say so. To them the God praising is little more than an attempt to tap Christian audiences.

For the sake of argument, let's say there is a god. How the hell do you know what he would like or dislike, what he would approve or disapprove of? Did he make you the judge?

Invoking the name of Christ creates an emotional response in the audience. That's about the only thing I can think of.
