When you would do anything for them.
When it hurts to see them with someone else.

That is, actually, a most excellent question... one that is HARD to answer! I guess I would say that you know you love someone when... mmm... you care about them enough to become self-sacrificial for them? That's my "common denominator" when I think of the people I love. I would give up everything I have... including, BUT NOT LIMITED TO my life, for them.
Anyway... a very thought-provoking question... good one!

i presume you mean loving a partner.you will know and feel it yourself.you wont want to be separated from that person and would do anything[within reason]for them as they should for you too.there is no point in loving someone that way though if they dont love you,because you'll only end up getting hurt.

When all you want is for that person to have all the happiness in the world. Is when you go out with your friends and just want this person to be the one you come home to, when you stay awake until they go to sleep so you know they are safe. When every bone in your body aches to be in their company, is when just hearing their voice puts calmness and peace in you head. When something happens in your life you want them to be the first to hear, good or bad and you want to be the first to hear what has happened to them. Is when you are so proud to have them with you and feel so lucky that this person has come into your life and you do all you can to make them feel proud of you.

Everytime your around them you cant help but get butterflies in your stomach. You constantly stare into their eyes. Your always smiling when your around that person. Also, when they are the only person you think & talk about. You have a certain feeling in your heart letting you know they are the one. You act like he/she is the only guy/girl around.

Two things:
1. When the happiness and well-being of the other person is more important to you than your own.
2. Power and trust...
You have opened your heart, completely, to the other person. In doing so, you have given them the POWER to hurt you... and you TRUST them not to use it.

You just know. Balls to bone, so to speak, you know that you love them and you can't imagine being with anyone else. Sometimes the feeling passes, but sometimes it deepens.

I can bare with their mistakes....I can forget and forgive when they hurt me...I guess that how I know when I love someone...
