MAXIglide by Maxius - best straightening iron I ever bought (and I've owned many). It's ceramic & ionic. It also has detangling pins on one plate so it pulls hair straight for you. I have very difficult hair & only use it on # 5 setting (there are 10 in total). There is a water chamber so you can use the steaming function too. It's not cheap but well worth the $$$. Got mine from Linens 'n Things & used a 20% off coupon. QVC has them on special from time to time too.

As far as curling irons go, anything ceramic is good. I use a 2" one & am about to get a set of heated rollers to try. You have to experiment a lot to find out what will work best for you :o)

Good Luck!

i use the conair curling iron. it works really well and has this thing called turbo heat for hard to curl hair. i heard that ceramic ones are the best. so i'm guessing that you should look for any brand that sells them. also make sure that you apply a special syrum to your hair before you curl or straighten it otherwise it will burn ( i use VO5 brand) try experimenting with different kinds. what i usually do it first straighten my hair, then curl it lightly so i get cute and lose waves. then i apply hair spray or gel so that it will hold. otherwise it will unravel and it would be pointless
another good idea is to ask your hair dresser for some tips, maybe they will have a good solution to your problem

well anyway
good luck!

I would get anything that has ceramic plates. They heat up faster and also calm your hair.
