We are doing that now and it just seems to keep costing us more money than we thought! Custom doors b/c the door frames are smaller than normal doors...Carpeting for such a large space is super expensive. The drywall & sanding wasn't too bad, but we got a deal from some local workers... To keep costs down, try to do as much of it as you can yourself. Read home improvement books to learn techinques

If the basement is dry the best and cheapest thing for the floors is indoor/outdoor carpet.And on the walls put up 2/4s and then hang wood paneling..cheap and easy..have fun.

put up 2x4 walls against the concrete to provide a backing for insulation and sheetrock. then just paint it and put in some carpet and your set.

put up tons of drywall to hide everything. lay down laminate or wood flooring, and make sure everything is leak proof and such before putting up drywall.
