I am going to a reception for the wedding (which took place out of the country a couple months ago). I don't know the co-worker very well and don't make a whole lot of money. What do you think is a good amount?? It's off a registry, so they will know exactly how much I spent.

I would spend $30-$40. They should have some decent items for that price on their registry. Don't worry about how much your dinner costs, because the only way to find out is by asking the bride and groom. It could be $20 or it could be $50.

1. You don't know her very well
2. She probably invited everyone from the office as a courtesy
3. She probably knows about how much you make so don't worry about that.
4. The choice for her to spend what it cost per person was their choice not yours.
5. Gift cards make awesome gifts and Bed Bath and Beyond allows you to purchase gift cards for them.

Go with a tasteful card wishing them all the best and leave a gift certificate for 20 to 25 dollars. Most couples get about 20% off at the places they register for up to a year on the completion of their registry. That means they take all the cash and go buy whatever was left that people did not get for them at a discount. Whatever you get them will help go towards what they want. It was kind of her to invite you but don't feel obligated to go unless you RSVPed already.

I think it's kind of strange for you to invite you since you don't know her very well, but hey - it'll be nice to mingle with your other co-workers! :-)

I would say $20 or under. DON'T spend more than that for sure. If you are worried about being cheap, I would say stop! LOL She's going to open whatever you get her, and be (hopefully!) thankful you even got her something. I would highly doubt the first thing on her mind is going to be, "wow....this is all she got me?!"

And try to find something off the registry since a gift card sometimes doesn't seem to personal enough and the gift might have more of an inpact. Plus, you might be able to find something on sale that says $20 on the registy but is on sale for $15 or $10! :-)

Good luck!

Well, think of it this way. If they registered for it, then they must need it. When I got married, I put things of all different price ranges on my registry so that everyone would feel comfortable with how much they were spending. I recently bought a gift for a coworker of my husbands that we aren't real close to and I picked a blender for $25 off their registry. That way it didn't financially break me, but we still showed that we cared and were congratulating them on their big day.

I am getting married in November and I am registered at several different place for a varity for my guests but you know what they dont have to get anything off them they could go to the dollar store (you can find nice things there sometimes) or even a card is all I need (example 10 yrs ago I could not afford a big gift for my uncle and his wife so I went to the dollar store and found a bride and groom mice nicknack set wich were VERY cute and do you know still to this very day my aunt has them on her shelf cause she loved them) its not the cost of the gift but the idea behind them. I am not inviting my guests for the gifts I trully want them to share my special day with me.

If you live near a kitchen outlet store go and buy them something pretty and usefull and add a few dish towels and pot holders I gave a co worker a collendar in Yellow plastic, a set of measuring cups dish towels and pot holders. I think she liked the idea. I spendt $40.00 and it more than covered the price of the meal and the bride's mother and aunts made all the food. I do not drink/

nicely in the event that they're spending seventy 5 funds a plate, this is worry-free to hide the fee of that. yet whilst this is in basic terms too plenty which you are able to deal with then supply what would be comfortable. each thing is appriecate as a recent.

$10-20.

They shouldn't have invited you to their wedding if they don't know you very well. This is an obvious sign that they are inviting more people in the hopes of getting more money/gifts. So, go...enjoy, eat their food, and don't spend much.

Or if that doenst work, get a gift card from the plce that they are registryed at
