Per-Call-Blocking prevents your name and number from being displayed when you call someone who has Call Display. The word "Private" will appear on their display instead. The service also prevents the person you have called from using Call Return to identify your number or call you back.

To activate Per Call Blocking, press *67 before dialing a phone number and your name and number number will not be provided for the duration of that call.

Subscribers to Call Display may choose to block calls from numbers marked "Private." If you hear a recording that the party you are trying to reach does not accept anonymous calls, you may wish to redial the number without using *67, or place your call from another telephone line.

Please note that there are some instances when your name and number may not be blocked using *67:

When placing a collect call, or calling an 800 or 900 number, your name and number information is provided for billing purposes
When calling a person served by a telephone company that does not adhere to the privacy regulations set out by the CRTC in Canada or the FCC in the United States, your name and number may still be provided if the company does not recognize the privacy indicator. This is more likely to occur for calls terminating outside of BC or Alberta.

There's a feature called Call Screening call your local phone company to order it. The feature will allow you to block up to 10 numbers from dialing your phone.
