One is too many for me! However, it is your personal decision to ultimately decide how many children to have, as long as you can maintain them all in a proper way. What I mean by proper is that:
1) you and your spouse make enough money to maintain the amount of children you want and still have more money to spend for other fun stuff,
2) you and your spouse have no intentions of getting divorced or separated,
3) you and your spouse can provide the EMOTIONAL support that your children need, and
4) you and your spouse can handle the physical, mental and emotional strain of having to care for your children.

Well too many depends first and foremost on the financial situation and the living situation. If you were a single mother with four children who only makes minimum wage then for you situation that is too many. You are forced to work so much and it is impossible to spend enough quality time with each child, let alone the housework and helping them with their school work. I have three and I look quite young so I get the whole well when are you going to stop. Well my husband and I decided we thought three is a good number for us, well actually my husband wanted more, but you have to be practical about it. I think that if you have a husband and depending how much you can take and the range in ages amongst your children weighs out too. Some people are divorced and each bring three children into the new marriage, but one has to realize that there may be six children, but there are four parents so to say. So all in all it depends on the situation most of all. Every family is different, plus some women can only handle one child.

As many as YOU feel is too many. I have 4 of my own and 3 step children. If we made more money, I would want atleast 1 more.

For me two is too many....But it depends on the family. As long as you can afford to feed, clothe, nurture and educate four children, then it is nobody's business how many you have. Overpopulation is a big issue based on the fact that people have children they cannot support, and therefore must be supported by others. This is in my opinion extremely irresponsible.

You should only have the number of children for which you can provide in every way. Parents should be able to meet the needs of all of their children. If this isn't possible, stop having more children.

Too many is more than you can handle. I'm LDS and know some members who have as many as 6 or 8 or even 10!

Too many is more than you can provide for properly, give the right amount of love and attention to, and too many is when the last one puts you over the limit and you're mean, uncaring and selfish to all of them.

I would say too many is when you cannot feed, clothe and house them all. But if they are spaced out chronologically, the older ones start to help out while the younger ones are still coming in. Enjoy!

I hav the PERFECT answer for u!!! You can only have too many children when you can't afford them. (Especially paying for their college tuition!) If you can't afford all of that or take care of them properly, DON'T have any more!!!!!Please, my family gets paid a lot, and they still can't even barely afford my college tuition. Much less pay for their other 2 children. Please for the sake of your other children STOP now!
