I don't expect a room with roses everywhere, or an expensive car, or a fancy restaurant, I like McDonalds and Honda Civics, and the beach. What does this say about me? My mother says i'm a very cheap date, everywhere we go I never get anything for myself, etc. I just want to know why this is or how it's going to effect me and if it is.

It is going to effect you in a very positive way! When a person is low maintence it doesn't take much to make them happy and that is a good thing. It is always better to live below your means because there will always be money left over to have for a rainy day. Materialistic people are seldom happy. They always want one more shiny thing. Finding yourself content is a very good quality. You are blessed!

To answer your question, you have to treat yourself the way you want others to treat you. It sets a standard for other people, especially men, to meet.
There is nothing wrong with having simple tastes, but you also don't want to put out a vibe that it takes no effort to court you.

Well, it's when you grow up. When I was 10 years old, my parents told me that they didn't want t buy me the things I wanted because I just play for a little while with them. And as you grow up, you say I don't really need them even though you want them. It's a parent control thing, but you'll get used to it like I did.

it is actually good... i hope, cuz im the same way. at least your not asking of obviously hinting (oxymoron), that you want something. at least you dont make them feel like they have to spend to keep you happy. you probably make them want to buy you things by being so modest. i congratulate you on this.
