When we bought our first house three years ago I vowed "NO WHITE WALLS EVER AGAIN!" I've done it, every room has a distinct flavor and the only white I have is trim and ceilings. I love color, it makes everything livable. I painted one of our living room walls the deepest red, everyone loves it. My diningroom/sun room are warm buttery yellow and a soft tangerine, it makes everything look summery even in the dead of winter. Our master bedroom and bath are a Safari Green which makes everything tranquil. Color, color, glorious COLOR!!!

My bedroom is painted a periwinkle (purplish blue) with white accents. I used sheer white curtains and have pine furniture with a white wicker headboard. I painted one wall a darker shade of the same color. In the winter, I add red pillows, throws, flowers, candles to warm it up.
My living and dining room are joined and they are both a yellowish gold. Love it. My kitchen is "French Vanilla" by Sherwin Williams. It's a little lighter than I wanted, not yellowish enough. My den is paneled, but the paneling is painted white so I use blue and white plaid furniture with yellow and green accents. My friends call it my Cape Cod room. Lots of beachy pictures.
My half bath is called Chateau Violet (also Sherwin Wms.) My boys bedrooms are different. One is a taupy tan with white trim and the other is a bright lime green. That is not a relaxing room but it suits my son. My guest room is a light rose-beige, very feminine. I'd like to repaint my kitchen. It's small and has a ceramic floor that is beige and terracotta. The counters are sage so I may go with that. My boys bathroom is sage and I like it alot. Any suggestions? Also, I'm sick of wallpaper. Had lots of it in my old house. Don't want it anymore except maybe on one wall somewhere.

My house now is all white walls --- but that will change next spring -- amhoping to paint living room a shade of sage green, the kitchen a happy light color, not sure if it will be an earthy but light orangy/brown or a rosy/brown to go with oak cabinetry.
My old bedroom was a beautiful sunset orange/muted down a little ... so not quite peach or pumpkin but a beautiful cantalopy-melon color. Just loved it .. My current bedroom is a robin's egg color bluish-green. I think color is so much fun and really livens up one's life... and what's great aboutit is you can always paint over it if you don't like it or get tired of it.
I don't really like wallpaper, but the wallpaper borders are nice accents.

Most of my house is white, due to my parents' choice, although we might be repainting our kitchen to something more warm.
My room started off blue, turned to white, then purple, and today three of my walls are a watermelon red-pink and one wall is lime green. It keeps me refreshed and energized when I walk in. As well, the red-pink is really good for hanging things on. I went to a world-class museum in Europe a few years ago and one of their entire walls was the same colour, and it was being used to display paintings. The tour guide told us the colour was specifically chosen because it enhances the paintings.
It seems to be true in my room as well.
