The Bible says not to use the Lord's name in vain. Now while God isn't HIs name (closer to a title, Jehovah or Jesus is his name in the Christian religion) many people still believe that it is His name and therefore saying God damn is using His name improperly.

However, while it isn't His name, the idea of the scripture I believe is to not call on God to do things that would clearly be against His will. Calling on God or Jehovah or Jesus to damn something or someone (since God wants all to come to Him in repentance, no matter who the person) is probably still wrong, so avoiding saying it still would probably be a good idea.

Because it's like saying that you're using the power of God to curse someone, which is heresy of course. I'm not offended by it, but I get where people are coming from.

Because they feel like it is going against god but half the time they tern around and use the word GD when really they are saying the same thing. Some people are just to sensitive.

Well, one of the Biblical ten commandments states "Thou shalt not take the Lord's name in vain." Any person who is a Christian will find that word highly offensive.

IT's a sin. Using the lords name in vain and all. And I think we should be asking Him to Bless things we are not happy with, instead of damn them.

Because they think it is against god and using his name in vein. But really, who creates "curse" words? Society? Religion? Who is to tell me how I can talk, or decided what context I mean it in?

" though shall not use the lords name in vein"
meaning you wont invoke his name when you are angry.
You are really saying "God I want you to send that to hell."

and its really sounds bad from a young ladies mouth.
People do judge others by what they say and how they control themselves when angry.
