only if you're in Alabama or Alaska, those are the only 2 open adoption states, in all other states your records are sealed and can only be opened by court order after your 18th birthday- if you're young and have the financial means to hire a lawyer by all means do it, say you need your medical history- i was adopted at 7 weeks (i'm almost 37) and never got and info on my birth parents- had a chance when i was about 19 and decided then that it wasn't worth the cash- have kicked myself for years now over that stupid decision

I have a feeling there is a register that natural parent /s can add to if they want to be found by the child they adopted. Your children's services would tell you more. You have the right to track them using this system. I doubt that the hospital would give you the information you are looking for.

ok, I believe some human beings right here which you should be carefully phraseology your comments, because you probably did come off slightly beside the point with the "our delivery mom" and "our toddler" comments. She isn't YOUR delivery mom, she is the toddler's delivery mom, and the toddler isn't YOURS until it extremely is been surrendered or a minimum of, born. If the delivery mom invited you to stay, it extremely is extensive that she is permitting you to accomplish that. She would take returned her invitation, so are not getting hopes up too lots. you should be taken care of with admire via every person you come back into touch with. The nurse's comments above are thoroughly beside the point, and if she feels that way she shouldn't additionally be a nurse working in maternity. particular, the delivery mom is a nurse's "affected person" yet while the adoptive parents are there, if the delivery mom has made sparkling her desire is to have the adoptive parents involed in cares, and the toddler is discharging from the wellbeing midsection with the adoptive parents, then the practise concerning to the toddler ought to be targeted in the direction of the adoptive parents. Social workers and care coordinators on the wellbeing midsection ought to be in touch in the case, making constructive anybody's desires are being met, no longer in basic terms one edge or the different.

Ask your adoptive parents for the info. I am from a family of 8 kids, 3 of them are adopted. My mom has all the info, and has given details to them. And ya know what? All 3 of them have done nothing with the info. Ask your parents.. they probably have the info you are looking for.

Unfortunately, no. It's part of the HIPPA act to protect patient information. I would do it anyway because you have very small odds that a staff member would feel bad for your position and do it even if they're not supposed to. I've seen it happen before.
