It's hard to add them, if not impossible, but as you already mentioned, you should be able to find a model you want that has airbags.

The issue with adding them is that there is some controlling components that are hooked into the ECU for the car. Adding aribags means installing a separate ECU for that, and some cars can't handle that.

Hello,

airbags, even if they have the ECU and themselves installed in the car, wouldn't operate because the car needs crash sensors and/or acceleration sensors in front of the chassis to trigger the inflating of airbags. Therefore, without these sensors, nothing would work.

By the way, airbags are working best when you fasten the seatbelt. Without it, they can cause serious injury (even with the seatbelt fastened they easily brake your nose !).

Regards

NEITHER! IMHO a clever motor vehicle is something yet "clever". specific, they're wonderful, yet there's no longer something to them. What risk-free practices do you have in an twist of destiny? do you be attentive to that they require top type gasoline? A Mazda RX-8 is considered a "activities" motor vehicle. coverage for a sixteen-year previous with a activities motor vehicle is "outrageous"! seek for a Toyota Corolla or Camry, or a Honda Civic or Accord. in case you elect a Mazda, seek for a Mazda 6 or a Mazda 3.

No the car needs to be wired for them. Plus all the control units and sensors work with the rest of the car.
