First let me say I WAS a JW for 15 years
They get all kinds of bent out of shape if you call them a church and down right turn mean if you call them a cult.
They can push their beliefs on you when ever and where ever they like, but you dare say anything agaist the CHURCH and it is a church the boys in Brooklyn saw to that when they applied for church non-profit status. (personaly I see them for the Cult that they are)
They will jump down on you in a heart beat using the law they refuse to acknolwage.
This is so typical of those brainwashed by that cult. They have no sense of humour what so ever.
It gets programmed right out of them.
So hypocritical of them, they won't serve on a jury or vote but bruise their pride and they will go running to the courts, saying you are infringing on their freedom of religion, what about the right of free speech.
I have the misfortune of have been in the cult for 15 years now happily deprogrammed. Ex JW now
I know how they teach in services about all this anti witness propaganda, which there is none, well only what they make up to keep the sheep paranoid. Funny thing is they love to think they are being persecuted, so you would think they would demand the sign be kept up.
Tell them to take their freedom of cult and give back every ones freedom of speech.

This site is run by Ex JW's and shows what they really think

No. She has every right to turn down an invitation to hear what we have to say. I think the sign while humorous is still in poor taste. I know there was an old British that had a similar joke. I personally am not offended by this as I assume it to be a joke. However since the police had her remove said sign I suggest she contact her local Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. If she explains that she does not wish to be disturbed, they will try to keep her house on our version of a do not call list. The brothers may still check once or twice a year to see if she still feels that way or to see if she has moved. I hope this answers your question.

The sign might have been a bit rude, but I thought it was rather funny.
Coming to someone's house on Christmas day was pretty rude, too.
The sign had been up for 30 years, before anyone complained? LOL, that must qualify as some sort of miracle, if only a minor one!
Perhaps she could just put up a sign that forbids ANY solicitors? That's legal, I'm pretty sure.

She has the right to keep people off of her property. She didn't have to be mean about it. She could have just put up a guard dog sign. Doesn't it fall under the term racism when someone demeans another religion? Anyhow, it doesn't even sound like the JW's cared if it was up for 30 years and someone barely complained.

We have to be sure that nothing ever offends anyone. You can never have someone get their feeling hurt. We all need to love one another and life will be just grand!!!

Anyone for sitting in a big circle and singing kumbaya?

The political correctness bull manure that is taking over some areas is terrible. Why is it that we can not express differing opinions, without there being a big stink?

It offends me that the sign was removed. Because I am offended should it not be put back up to end the offense I feel?

If she was FORCED to remove the sign because it was offensive then the signs denoting the location of and in front of churches shoulod be removed as well. Actually that is not a bad idea. Especielly those that have the messages. Some of the messages ARE offensive, FAR MORE than the one the lady had up!!!

What I find more interesting is not whether it was wrong or right but the fact that she and her husband had the sign up 30+ years before anyone said anything. If someone was going to find it offensive you would have thought they'd have found it offensive since the mid '70's.

No, I don't think she was wrong at all. It'd be wrong to actually feed jw's to her dog. I gotta wonder, was it wrong for Jehova witnesses to preach door to door on X-mas Day? OR, if there's only something like 140,000 places in heaven, (or whatever number they think) Why are they looking for converts? If there's that few slots available, out of the billions already passed on, would' nt it be better to keep it a secret? "Keep out, members only" would be a better attittude if there's doubt of having room, let alone qualifications.

I guess this means I have to take my sign on my door that says "forget the dog, this property protected by SMITH AND WESSON 44." *sigh* And I just got it put up without leaving any nailprints. ;-)

The woman doesn't have the freedom of speech we do here because she lives in England. Did anyone else notice that ? Just wondering why I love the USA??? Cos no one can make me take down my sign. ;-)

I don`t go to the door if i see them comeing, If they catch me like they did 1 day this week, i listen to their speel, take their literature, and promptly trash it, If i had the guts i would tell them i`m not interested,They certainly don`t want to read my Christian book, the Holy Bible, they have a different version they use, is what i`ve been told. So my answer is yes to the question,
