When you make chicken salad, are you using canned chicken or freshly cooked chicken leftovers?

Sometimes I use canned chicken, some times I use freshly cooked chicken breasts. Both taste great, although the canned chicken salad tastes a lot like tuna salad.

I boil a whole chicken in water with salt, bay, onion and pepper corns. When the chicken is good and tender, I let it cool off and skin and bone it. I use all the meat of the chicken for chicken salad - adding anything you want to make it yummy.

I strain the broth and make soup from it - two birds with one chicken!

Canned chicken tastes just like that - canned chicken.

Baked chicken makes very good chicken salad. I never heard of making it from canned chicken. It may work but I wouldn't try it.

in my view, the only element i'm going to do with this is make chicken salad. this is with the aid of fact the seasonings that are used on the rotisserie chicken are very distinctive. i've got tried different issues with the leftovers, and it nevertheless had that rotisserie chicken flavor.

I didn't even know that they sell canned chicken, that's just gross. Meat shouldn't come in a can. You definitely use fresh cooked chicken.

almost always i use fresh chicken, love using leftover rotisserie chicken from the grocery store, yummy. i have used canned but it is not nearly as nice.
