I wasn't aware there were still people on the face of the planet that would think such a silly thing. I can't say how old the earth is exactly but come on, dinos didn't live and die out in just a few years. Or you could explain using small words of course about the ever expanding universe and how that would be impossible and even God says a day is as 10,000 years so just making the earth and all the critters on it could have taken 60,000 years. Or you could just leave them alone with their ignorance.

I don't see why you would have a problem if someone else has a different view on the age of the planet. Usually, people who believe in a young earth are Creationists, or believers in Intelligent Design.
That person's beliefs aren't hurting you, why would you want to slap them?

10,000 is more realistic. Look at the evidence, evolution is falling apart at the seams. It is being disproven on an almost daily basis which is why so many secular scientists are moving toward an 'intelligent design' theory.
Read "The case for a Creator" by Lee Strobel or "The evidence that demands a Verdict" by Josh McDowell

have them read a few books. Then slap them. Add them to the list of weirdos along with people who think the moon landing was done in a studio.

Have them read Creation: Chaos and Restoration by R.B. Thieme Jr. That should explain it to them quite nicely!

Give 'em a book on dinosaurs. Take him/her to a museum. If that doesn't work, then a backhand to the face would be appropriate.

There is really nothing you can say or do. It's a matter of faith to them and they cannot be convinced with facts.
