Yes! I think it's kind of sweet. There should be some gender equality!

I generally prefer the idea of both keeping their own last names, but depending on the situation, they could both use both last names.

That having been said, I certainly would NOT expect my husband to take my name if I married here (Poland) - what use does he have for a last name he can't even pronounce? If anything, for that very reason, I might consider taking his.

But if it were the other way around, if we were in the States and his name was unpronounceable, hey, why not? I'd let him take mine, no prob. Being a wuss has nothing to do with it - unless women are wusses for taking their husband's name!

Personally, I love my last name and feel insulted that I'm not even human enough to be able to keep it or give it to my children. I've only ever heard of/known one man who did this. I think society isn't ready for something like that, and it'll kind of screw up our genealogy line too. When I get married I might keep my last name, but I haven't decided yet. I think a guy should definitely change his name to the woman's if he has a crappy name, but otherwise it's just too weird. I mourn the fact that I can't give my last name to my children b/c I am the last in the family line. My bad for being born a girl=P

Wow I thought I just answered this question. Any way it's not sweet to take a woman's last name. Unless the woman is some driven competitive I make more money then you person. She will feel more comfortable having your name.

human beings nevertheless proceed to try this because of the fact once you have young ones, the youngsters will proceed on the family call. If there are any brothers interior the girl's facet of the family who marries, they are going to proceed on their family's call. i don't likely have a issue with it, yet I thoroughly understand the place you're coming from. It does form of exchange a woman's identity... yet its in simple terms what we do as quickly as we alter vows and that's the way it quite is. It proves which you too are so in love and meant for the different which you're keen to marry and function the comparable final call. i like to think of of the 1st call and the guy's identity, yet on account that maximum of human beings have the comparable first call, I understand your opinion thoroughly. If the girl does not desire to alter her final call, she does not might desire to. Its all approximately opinion... shall we are saying a woman named Anita Peterson marries a guy named Connor Bohner. Then i'm guessing she might desire to maintain her final call to Peterson...... hahahahah.

There is nothing wrong with a man taking the last name of his wife.

However, I do think changing your name due to marriage is silly.

i know some people who have done that. i find it to be non-traditional and feminist, not bad or good, just different. I wouldn't do it, but that's cause i don't like my last name. It's too common.

I guess I am old fashioned and took his name. I don't mind it. If he wanted to take my name that would have been fine too.
