Tijone - "no more cheating on your wife"?! What the hell; whether you believe in God or not, the human stance on this is that is a horrible thing to do!!
Once you adopt how Jesus sees these formerly "fun" things, you'll think everyone who does them is an idiot. But I do still see Christians who do bad things - it is their choice. It's not to say they aren't saved, it's just that they struggle with fully grasping the sin of the matter, like how pornography is disgusting exploitation, but they can't see this because they're consumed by piggish lust.
We're all on different levels with different problems; there are some Christians who smoke or do other bad things because they still claim too much ownership to their body, when it is really God's. But all these bad things non-withstanding, I think you have MORE fun as a Christian because you're "forced" to think outside the let's-get-plastered plan for the weekend.
People who don't want to "give up" their sins often can't see just how bad they are for them. Oh, such a pity to be a little more decent in coming to Jesus...they'd rather be in hell, I guess!

Let me tell you, I am a new follower of Christ and my life has changed in ways I can't explain to you, but perceptively you would say I was a much more fun person beforehand.
Being a follower of Jesus, your focus is now on the Lord and what He wants you to do and not to do. Fortunately or not, most of the fun of the flesh is forbidden. Just run through the commandments or flip through the Bible, and it doesn't take long to check off the fun things of the flesh. No more premarital sex. No more cheating on your wife. Heck, no more wanting a car just like your neighbor. No more sneaking a piece of candy from the bulk candy bin at the supermarket. Excessive partying, pornography, excessive drinking/drugs/smoking, disrespecting people.....etc...etc...
I know some of my partying friends think I'm more dull now, but I know better.

Because many who reject Christ say to Christans that they don't want to accept because they can't have fun (which isn't true, by the way unless fun is doing sinful things). They say also that they will wait until just before they die to get right so that they can live their lives. Christians base their understanding of why they reject by what they say.

I think their minds are stuck in the material world and cannot perceive 'fun' as being able to be accomplished in any other form than in the human body. The physical sensations have become an addiction to them that they fear they will have to give up if they accept the idea that there is a heaven and a set of steps to be followed to get there. However I do not think myself that fun and God are seperate ends, and that they can and should be joint and together. I think much is not understood by believers and non-believers alike.

I have actually heard this one myself.
And so the person did not acknowledge Jesus.
He went his way, doing whatever he wanted to do.
He went to Florida with his wife and worked for a Million are.
He was not allowed to go on vacations or visit his family.
He and his wife were on call 24 hours a day.
He lived in the million ares house, drove the million ares cars.
In effect a bond servant.
I saw him just a little while ago, after 24 years.
He and his wife got old and they were thrown out without so much as a by your leave.
I asked him, are you having any fun yet??
The answer was what fun.

"Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that Our Lord finds our desires, not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased."--CS Lewis "The Weight of Glory"
"The Christian ideal has not been tried and found wanting; it has been found difficult and left untried."--GK Chesterton

I think it is up to them to decide what they want to do in life, just like it is our,s to follow along in the bible.
They are living for the gifts of this world, when they should be living for god, and thinking about all the marvelous gifts awaiting for us in heaven.
I used to be a hard core sinner but i have turned from that way and i will tell you it is much better living for Christ than it is living in sin. at least when my time comes i know i will have a place in heaven away from all the suffering that i have seen here on earth. and i will be with my true family and friends.

I understand them.
American Christianity has given itself this reputation of being about safety for women and children.
Of course that is not what Christianity is about at all - so both view points are wrong... but I understand.
Real chistianity is about challenge and excitement...

JW, your response is borderline ridiculous. Are you saying that all people who are atieist or reject christ on drugs and sex?

It saddens me to hear that someone would choose a moment of sinful gratification over an eternity in heaven.
