Jesus said be no part of this world as I (Jesus) am no part of this world. Suggests to me he said stay out of politics altogether, since politics is precisely what this world is.

Even if you don't believe that, the Bible also says that while Christians are required to tell as many people as possible about God (in the form of Jesus or Jehovah, depending on your beliefs as a Christian), they must not force it on anyone. Which is precisely what the religious right is trying to do. The proper response to things like say gay marriage is to allow it to happen (not support it by voting for it, but not to fight it) and then go out and tell others about the scriptures and God. Then using reason and scripture when you come across a gay person, show how the Bible says homosexuality is wrong.

In his time he was about as radical as anyone could get. Overthrow the existing Jewish leadership; love your neighbor as yourself; even if you have little, give to those who have less still; the law of Moses is useless because the Savior is here. No, I'd say he was definitely a left-wing, bleeding heart liberal!

Jesus lived in his own time and place. It's pointless to put him into our context and try to decide which side of a political contest he would be on.

Wouldn't he need two wings, in order to fly? I mean, if he just had the one wing, he'd just end up flying in circles, wouldn't he?
