Jesus himself said (to paraphrase) it's not what you put in your mouth (or ear in this case) but what comes out that defiles you. I don't think he cares much about what you listen to. It is your actions and attitude that will see you to Heaven.

About 92 % to 95 % of the so-called christian music one hears today is nothing more than worldly music camouflaged as "christian". It is generally assumed that if the lyrics has the word "god" or "Jesus" or "love" in it, it is christian music irrespective of the accompaniment. Nothing could be further from the truth.

If you are really interested, there is much material on this subject on the Internet. A STARTING point is to do a word search on "Rock Music".

Balance has nothing to do with it - the key to answering your own question is if you feel "convicted" that the secular music you listen to is inappropriate or not. I think sin is defined differently to different people (Christian believers that is) What one person feels guilt over, the next person may think is OK. What one person thinks is OK right now, may feel convicted about it in a year. That is part of growing in your walk with God. Which is ongoing and everchanging.

You should to stay away from that secular music because it programs you the more you listen, you shouldn't enjoy music that gives Glory to Satan or sins of the flesh, and most of that secular music does,Its like an insult to God to praise people sinning, there are lots of music out there that doesn't give Glory to Satan or sin.....Jazz, some electronic Dance,Christian Rock,Classical,Christian Rap,Bands like P.O.D. ,MXPX,Switchfoot,DCTalk,Jars of clay, and tons of Way good Holy Hip Hop,that is good for the Soul, instead of Damaging to it.....We got enough trouble, we don't need any more by listening to Satan's worldly tunes....Let that crap go,you'll be glad you did....Oh and Check out 'The Blamed, 21' that CD rocks...

Good question, I know when I got saved I had to leave my old life behind. Now music is a form of worship, would you worship God with some of the music your listening to?? Let the Holy Ghost really lead you. Be true to God with your whole Heart!!

Blessing on You!!

A True Christian should want to listen to Gospel music. We should want to uplift His name. When Jesus saved me, He changed me. I become a new person. I have no desire for sin, He put a new song in my heart. Songs that praise Him. We should live our life apart from this world. Others should see the difference in our life. If we join in with the world, how will they tell the saved people from the lost?

If you are not convicted by the Holy Spirit on this one, then that's that. It is important that you fill your head (heart, ears, etc) with positive music and movies.

For example, a single person should be listening to sexual lyrics, a married person can when the thoughts are directed to their spouse only. You shouldn't listen to things that are violent, explict or demeaning to others.

Listen to the lyrics of the music you listen to. Is it something God would approve of? If not, it's sin whether it's Christian music or non Christian music.

I don't think the music you listen to has anythink to do with being a good Christain. It is how you treat people that counts. I think people who tell you what to listen to and where you are going go if you don't are the ones with the problems. They are also the ones that will have to answer to God.

Atleast you admit your flaws. no person is acceptable, so i visit credit you on that. do exactly what you comprehend is solid deep down on your heart. all of us is conscious what's solid and incorrect of their hearts. some human beings choose for to hearken to, and a few choose for to miss approximately it. merely such as you do no longer would desire to be a christian to be a solid guy or woman. whether you non secular ideals are incorrect interior the tip, if god is so loving and forgiving, you're able to pass to heaven or in spite of. Admitting you at the instant are not suitable is the 1st step in understanding that no remember what faith, we are all no longer suitable and all of us make errors. this is what residing is somewhat approximately. ;)
