i was sworn into the army national guard for the first time at MEPS the day before yesterday. i guess i am in delayed entrance because i am a senior this year, and therefore can't go to basic until next summer. i passed all of the tests (obviously, because i got in).
my question:
i took a drug test that i am about 75% sure i passed. i had done marijuana once about 24 days before i took the drug test. i passed the one my recruiter gave me, but it was faint. so what will happen if my drug test comes back positive (it takes 72 hours to process)? will i be immediately kicked out or what? please keep in mind that i have already sworn in.
please answer if you can help me.

I had sworn in with the marines and a week later found out i failed my drug test for mj. All they made me do was wait a month then go back to meps and retake my drug test. Then you re-sign and swear in again.

Generally , military forbids such practices and have severe reactions so normally if you're test came-up positive you'd be put to trial . The fact that your were sworn in makes things more complicated not easier for you. But honestly , i wouldn't worry that much even if it turned positive.

I am a sgt. in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. If you piss hot, as we call it, you will be given an entry level separation. I think it takes 5 years before u are eligible to enlist again. What MOS did they give you?

Ok if the test is positive they will kick u out... I mean they wont allow a drug user to enter the military thats common sense regardless to the swearing in.....So I mean it all depends on the results.....

When I was in the naval reserve, I freely admitted that I had smoked marijuana but that i was much more of a boozer, they didn't seem to give a rat's *** either way!

doesnt matter if youve been sworn in or not, marijuana is a no-go. just pray its outta your system already.
