For almost 100 years, doctors believed that stress, spicy foods, and alcohol caused most ulcers. Now we know that most peptic ulcers are caused by a particular bacterial infection in the stomach and upper intestine, by certain medications, or by smoking.

In certain circumstances stress can help cause ulcers. But this usually only happens in situations when illness involving severe emotional or physical stress is involved — such as when someone is so sick that he or she cannot eat for a long period of time. Ulcers occur because of uncontrolled increased acid production in the stomach and changes in a person's immune system (the body system that fights infection). With any illness where the body's ability to heal is challenged (such as when a person has been burned badly in a fire), there is a risk for developing ulcers.

I have to agree with the above sentance, i have an ulcer as we speak and had one last week too.. I believe it is down to emotional stress. The last time i had one was January, that was when my nana passed away, this week would have been her birthday, i think this has something to do with it.
My friend has recently also told me it could be down to stress, and it cant just be a coincedence that it happened both times.

You can treat ulcers with Adcortyl in Orabase, i get this from my GP. I had tried everything, including bonjela but this did not work, so i tried the Adcortyl in Orabase and it worked great.

The medicine contains triamcinolone acetonide, which is a steroid, it will reduce inflammation. It is like a paste which will stick to the wet surfaces of the mouth and form a protective film over your mouth ulcer.

I've suffered chronic mouth ulcers for 25 years. Dentists, doctors and specialists don't have a clue. Avoiding mouth ulcers has been a serious interest of mine and I've made lists of foods to avoid and foods to help. Physical and mental stress can have a negative impact, your 'healthiness' can have an impact but your real problem is an imbalance between good bacteria and bad bacteria in your gut. Avoiding modern sweeteners like high fructose corn syrup, extremely sweet fruits and especially yogurt will help you. If your problem is chronic then I suggest you start taking a probiotic routinely to help keep you in balance. If you're looking for a quick fix try eating rotisserie chicken. Drinking whole milk will also sooth immediate pain . The most powerful fix that helps me is Kombucha with ginger found near yogurt in the grocery store. It is chilled, it contains all good bacteria and it needs to stay chilled until used. Hope this helps, I feel your pain.

There are many processes which can lead to mouth ulceration. In some cases they caused by an overreaction by the body's own immune system. Factors that appear to provoke them include stress, fatigue, illness, injury from accidental biting, hormonal changes, menstruation, sudden weight loss, food allergies and deficiencies in vitamin B12, iron and folic acid. Some drugs, such as nicorandil, have been linked with mouth ulcers.

ulcers in the buccal region(mouth) can be caused by excessive stress, acid reflux, or even a minor abrasion. oral-b has some products that can provide temporay relief to these ulcers or sores. gargling may solve the problem. if you are brushing too hard, or are wearing sharp objects in your mouth(braces, retainer etc), you may want to brush lighter or remove these objects for a few days to see what happens. hope this helps.

Hello,
I'm a medical researcher. It is widely agreed among physicians and medical paraprofessionals, that initial diagnosis, mostly by using a typical acid reflux symptoms questionnaire, is necessary to ensure the most effective and quick treatment for this condition. Approx 70% of the acid reflux diagnostics that are based on the presence of typical symptoms are accurate. Since acid reflux, also called GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease), can cause patients a great deal of discomfort and result in severe complications, it is highly important to know how to identify its symptoms in order to quickly diagnose and treat it.

If you know you have acid reflux you can try this natural program http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=568
Have a nice day
