my camera rewinded, and said "open" in the window, and when i opened it there was still a little film exposed. Is the whole film ruined or the little bit tha was exposed...

Only the bit of film that was exposed will be lost.. one or two close to it may have 'light leak' which can cause a red, orange or yellowish streak on the pictures.

Take the film to a Rtiz Camera or Wolf Camera in your area. The lab techs will do their best to get you a wonderful picture.

I assume this is a 35mm camera. Some cameras rewind the entire film back into the cassette and some leave a little of the leader film. In answer to your question if the whole film is ruined - NO.

If it was just the tail of the film, your roll should be just fine. If the film was still stretched across to the other spool, your roll is probably mostly ruined.

Take it in for processing, explain to the person there what happened, and get their advice.

Only very light sensitive film, like infrared, would be ruined with just a little sticking out.

The entire roll is probably okay with the exception of the possibly the last shot or two.
