Do you know of any cases where small cell cancer has gone into remission after it has metastasized? My father has it, had 3 sessions of chemo, and feels fine. The cancer has had no effect on him so far.

It depends on where is has metastasized (spread) to. I am not an oncologist but I used to work at the Univ of Chicago. They are foremost in the country for cancer treatment and they have much information on their websites. Just look up University of Chicago Oncology and you should be able to get much information. There is always hope and many more people are recovering from cancer nowadays. Prayer does much for everyone involved.

My husband had this type of cancer, he had lung cancer and they told him he had gone into remission but then in like two months it came back. I'm not saying it can't happen because everyone is different. So I'm happy to hear that your dad is doing great and I hope they were able to rid him of that nasty cancer. Also it is not always the cancer itself that makes you not feel good it's the chemo and all the other chemicals you are now putting into your body that makes you feel terrible.

Small Cell Cancer (SCC) is an aggressive cancer, grows rapidly and is frequently metastatic (spreading) via lymphatic and blood vessels. SCC usually has the poorest 5-year survival of all histologic types. I guess yr dad is a smoker?
