The height of flea-and-tick season is April-August, but fleas can cause problems all year.

Your dog acquired fleas and ticks from tree barks, grasses and garden plants when they unleashed in your garden.

If you live in a tick-infested area, you should examine your dog or cat for ticks on a daily basis. If you have taken your pet for a walk through the bush or have been camping with your dog then examining it when you get back home is also a good idea.

Fleas can make your dog or cat very itchy, lose their hair, and lose lots of blood. In addition, fleas can carry tapeworm eggs. If your pet eats a flea that is carrying tapeworm eggs, your pet can get tapeworms.

Flea bites themselves may be unnoticeable on some pets, cause slight irritation in others, and produce severe itching, red lesions, hair loss, and even ulcers in a third group. The severe lesions are caused by a hypersensitivity to the flea saliva and is called flea allergy dermatitis.

Although frontline tries to remove ticks and fleas, it is highly advisable to consult your vet for deticking.

They pick them up from the grass outside. The only way to never get fleas is to live in a highrise apartment and never let your pet outside. Since this is not an option for most caring pet owners, a spot on treatment like Advantage works very well. Your vet can recommend a product that will be safe for the puppies. It is not a sign of poor care, rather a sign that your animals are getting the fresh air and exercise that they need.

Their Mother could have brought them in on her, after being outside. Ticks can suck the Blood out of the Babies, so get them checked with a Vet., because they also cause Diseases. Ticks & Fleas, come from grass outdoors, or Trees. Either way they carry lots of Diseases.

As long as they have fur, they'll likely have ticks and fleas. And no, I'm not suggesting that you shave them. Once they're old enough, you can give them a Frontline treatment every six weeks or so (get the one that you can just squeeze between their shoulder blades). This poisons the ticks and fleas without dosing your dog with pesticides, and keeps him/her free from such threats as Lyme Disease and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever.

Well, at least the mom goes outside right???? She can bring them in to the puppies. If the puppies are going outside, they can get them there.
You better get Advantage or Frontline or something. Fleas and Ticks can kill puppies and they can at the very least get tapeworms from the fleas. It doesn't look to good to sell puppies with fleas, ticks, and tapeworms!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's actually the other way around. The ticks and fleas are stuck to dogs and puppies.

Your puppies must go into areas where there are ticks and fleas. Areas like corn fields or weeds.

its not only dogs, but all animals and humans. they need blood in order to hatch their eggs. flea's are more a sand flea and hope from animal to animal and humans. they can jump over 3 feet. they are everywhere. you have to erradicate your home and yard to get ride of them. if you use boric acid which is a powder used to kill the criiters from flea's to roaches. also in soap to clean clothes. it will kill them. otherwise they will keep coming back. use the botic acid powder in your yard as you can buy it from the companies which mine it out of new mexico, the only place it comes from. it runs about 5.00 for 20 pounds compared to 5.00 for a 16 oz. bottle at home depot such as hot shot. use smoke bombs in the house and it will kill all bugs and use the boric acid on the yard.
