In other words, they are just us bringing themselves (copies) into the world as us! This depends what sex the child is. If its a daughter then the mother is involved, if a son, the father is involved. If they are lucky and get both son and daughter in their lifetime as parents, they have created a new life for themselves through them.

No, each human being born on this earth is an individual. A living breathing entity unto themselves. If your theory were true my father would have really gone bust because from two marriages he had four daughters. No sons. If your theory would be true my aunt would have gone bust because she had two sons, no daughters. Luck has nothing to do with the sex of a child...the male sperm holds the sexual coding for a pregnancy.

Not exactly. It's true that there is a biological imperative to create children, but human genetic variance ensures that no exact "copies" are made. It's also up to the parents as to how they wish to raise their children -- but even there no child is going to be a copy of the parent no matter how hard they try.

No. Our purpose in life is to love God and hopefully make the world a little better place than we found it. We do not recreate ourselves through our children. They are individuals with their own thoughts , ideas and beliefs. While some of these things may be similiar to ours and dna makes appearance similiar they are very different , individual people.
