My parents let me make dinner tomorrow :) and I'm going to surprise them with a desert. Do you have any ideas i can do? I don't have any ice cream or pudding or anything, no fruit. My oven won't light either, my parents are working on it. I really want to surprise them, without fruit ice cream or pudding and an oven that doesn't work, (stovetop works though) can I make them something spectacular? Thanks!

Jell-O Pie

I box Jello (I prefer strawberry)
1 Premade Graham cracker crust (use chocolate if you like)
2/3 c boiling water
1/2 c cold water
1/2 c ice cubes
8 oz cool whip

Mix boiling water with Jello packet, and stir until slightly thickened.
Add cold water and ice cubes, still until thickened. Add Cool whip, put mixture into fridge for about 30 minutes (until starts to set). Pour into crust, and refrigerate 4-6 hours, until completely set.
Serves 8

It's a nice, easy, light, and inexpensive summer dessert. One of my favorites!

Go to the store and buy these items....this is the easiest recipe and it's QUICK. Already made angelfood cake.....2 boxes of lemon pudding and 1 large container of Cool whip.....tear the cake up in small pieces in a 9 x 11 cake pan. Prepare the pudding and power over the cake. Chill until the pudding has set up and then top with Cool whip. DELICIOUS AND EASY! You can use any flavor of pudding you like.....I've used lemon, chocolate, pistachio...all great. Everyone loves this dessert. It takes about 10 -15 minutes.....As MARTHA says, "IT'S A GOOD THING" although Martha wouldn't make it because it's not made from scratch. But, I'm telling you ......I'm for fast and easy and your guest will rave over this dessert! This recipe will serve at least 8 or more.

Wow! That's a tough one, I thought I found one for you...it has no pudding, but then I saw you said you have no fruit. Not even bananas? Anyway, I tried. You might want to check out cooks.com and see what you can find...they have tons of recipes. Good luck!

Here is something I've enjoyed making in the past.

You will need 5 glasses, 1 box instant chocolate pudding, 1 box jellow (prefer strawberry-banana), 1 box instant vanilla pudding, and cool whip. First make your chocolate pudding and pour it into the glasses. After it sets, repeat with the jello and set that too. Then make the vanilla pudding and add cool whip on top.

If you don't have the glasses, a dessert mold will serve.

Enjoy!

Though not fancy and spectacular, whenever I can't use the oven and am not able to get out to the store for ingredients to make a dessert, I like to make no-bake cookies. They are SO good... I could eat the whole batch myself.

2 cups sugar
1/3 cup baking cocoa
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup butter or margarine
2 1/2 cup quick-cooking oats
1/2 cup peanut butter
2 tsp vanilla

Combine sugar, cocoa, milk and butter in saucepan. Cook over medium heat. Stir, stir, stir until mixture comes to a boil. (You may want to cook this over a pan of hot water or very carefully over direct heat). Cook 2 more minutes (burns very easily). Remove from heat. Stir in remaining ingredients until blended. Drop mixture by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookies sheet. Makes about 3 dozen.

These cookies are really good and really easy! My mom used to make them for us when we were kids!

No Bake Cookies
2/3 cup chocolate chips
1 heaping tablespoon peanut butter
1/3 cup oatmeal
1/3 cup peanuts
Microwave or heat on stovetop chocolate chips and peanut butter until melted. Stir in oatmeal and peanuts. Drop by teaspoonsfuls onto waxed paper or greased cookie sheet. Refrigerate until firm.

These are good too.
Swedish Chocolate Balls
1 stick butter
1 cup sugar
2 Tablespoons cocoa
1 Tablespoon instant coffee
1 Tablespoon hot water
1 Tablespoon vanilla
1 1/4 cup oatmeal
Beat butter and sugar. Set aside. In small bowl, dissolve coffee in hot water. Add to butter and sugar mixture. Mix in oatmel. Roll into 1-inch balls and roll in sugar to coat. Refrigerate until firm. YUM!

Hope these help!

If you tell me what ingredients you have it will make it easier for me to give you some recipes. My first thought was a strawberry cheescake freeze, they are delicious. But I see you don't have any fruit. Email me if you want some ideas. Standing4Him_always@yahoo.com :)
