"Entomology" is the study of insects. "Etymology" is the study of word origins and how the meanings have changed over history. The English word lord goes back to Old English hlaf-weard (loaf-guardian) – reflecting the Germanic tribal custom of a superior providing food for followers.

Most don't even know about their religion. That is why it is blind faith. They just do as they are told. I do not know what entomology has to do with it. Are you seeing if the Christians get offended, even if they have no idea what the question was? They see any question as an attack.

Craig is right, "lord" is from "bread guardian" ("loaf" in Old English meant "bread" in general, not just "loaf" as it does today). Methuselah is also right, this isn't about insects. Unless, of course, the "bread guardian" keeps insects away from the bread as well as thieves ;)
