We have had credit problems in the past and it is on the mend, but that takes awhile to get it back where it needs to be and we are really looking forward to this adoption adventure, but are having problems coming up with all of the money. It is going to cost $15,000.00. Does anyone have any help for us????

Sounds like you are not ready for the "adoption adventure" if you cannot afford the price of admission.

Good for you! The world needs people to adopt! Start by looking at The Dave Thomas Foundation. There are several links to financial assistance there, grants, etc.

Also, if you go through the state and do foster-to-adopt they will often cover most, if not all of the costs and some will even give you a monthly payment to help with bills! I would contact your local Department of Health and Social Services and ask them about it.

We have adopted 2 from China and there are all kinds of grants and low cost loans out there,
Go to Steven Curtis Chapmans site, and look under Shohannahs Hope. It is a grant program that if you are approved will pay up to 5000 of adoption costs.
There are others out there. Look on Google under adoption grants.
I raised alot from garage sales and Ebay too. If your heart is pulling you to adoption , you`ll find the way, trust me.
Good luck!

Oh! all that money is not due at once. Only a small portion to get you started., If you are adopting from China you`ll have a yr to come up with all financing.
Go here
www.worldadoptions.org
Its the agency we used here in Ky and they are awesome!

And you want to adopt??? WTF is wrong with this picture??? Talk about selfish!!! Grow up emotionally and financially before you bring an innocent child into this mess. Starting out broke is NOT the way to raise a child...
