Absolutely $00000000000
In 98,000 Congregations world wide, no one gets paid, we have no paid, as you would say "paid ministers", we pay for our gas, shoe leather, the only pay that we get is a "smile" or "nice conversation" most of the time at a home. Or someone that recognizes the Truth & becomes a Jehovah's Witness.
This happens more times than you may realize, 262,416 changed their Religion in 2004, Last year 2005, 247,631, became Jehovah's Witnesses and everyone of these had to change their minds pertaining to the false teachings that they had been taught, these were people that used their own Bible, King James, etc., 28,384 were from the United States.
And no one receives any pay, I should know, been a JW's for 48 years, and if I get paid, am still looking for my 1st pay check.

I've never come across anyone asking that. If they did I would give my phone number if they had real interest in why I was there but as a woman I wouldn't give my address nor would I expect any woman I met on the street to give out their address to anyone. It's better to meet at a park or public place if someone wants to talk more at another time. It's a dangerous world. If someone came to my house like you said...I'd be more than happy to talk even at dinnertime,I've done it a few times. once on Halloween and once when 2 Mormons came to my door(they came to a picnic with us and learned a lot that day)

We get paid exactly the same salary that Jesus Christ was paid for his house to house preaching of the good news in the first century - ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
We do it out of love and concern for our neighbors.
See Matthew 10:8; 28:19,20; Acts 20:20; and 2 Corinthians 9:7.

Jehovah's Witnesses literally have zero employees. The more than 6 million Witnesses who preach from house-to-house are volunteering their time and energies to the Almighty. Even fulltime ministers and congregation elders are unpaid. Even circuit and district overseers are unpaid.
(Matthew 10:8) You received free, give free.

Jehovah's Witnesses take to heart Jesus' counsel at Matthew 6:19-21, 25-33.
So many others have answered in their own words ... the response of Maia-Kine' is very much what I'd thought I'd say. So I'll just stick to providing you links to the official on-line explanations:

They get paid nothing. "Spreading the good news" is part of their witnessing. PS: I'm not a JW...

I dare say J.W's who go door knocking get more doors slamed in their face than polite conversation. Many more are invited in and confronted with the TRUTH rather than the watered down, blantant LIES that is the JW doctrine.

As one of Jehovah's Witnesses I can tell you get we paid absolutely nothing. We preach to others about Jehovah and the many blessings in store for obedient mankind out of love for God and in obedience to Jesus command found at Matt.28:19,20 where Jesus instructed his disciples to "go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations....teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you.....
Taffi get your facts straight.Witnesses dont preach that all go to heaven. The Bible cleary shows only 144,000 faithful men and women will have the privilege of ruling as kings and priests with Christ.(Rev.14:1-4)
As already stated we do this work out of love and a sense of urgency and responsibility.
Jesus too did a work like this - preaching from house to house,and he taught his disciples to do the same.(Acts20:20,5:28;
Mark6:7-12)

They get paid nothing, but they log their hours of service work. I think the typical "Pioneer" has to log 90 hours a month. All of this paperwork is submitted to the congregation elders and forwarded to the Watchtower Society in New York. This is one of the ways they "work" their way into Heaven.
