A friend got married in the court house. She casually let people know ahead of time and then afterwards she sent out a reception invitation with a formal announcement on the top that they were married. I suggest doing the same thing, it went over very well.

You don't tell people who are not invited ANYTHING about an event to which they are not invited. That's rude.
Immediately after the ceremony, you can mail out wedding announcements. Here is how:

You could send out an offical announcement after your wedding. If you will be having a reception of any kind, you can also include that invitation in with the wedding announcement. http://aphroditescreations.regency.ac/
Good luck!

A wedding annoucement looks almost like an invitation, but the wording is different and they are sent out AFTER the wedding. You could prepare them in advance and mail them out just a couple days after your ceremony.
