As in any other kind of food, there are plenty of Indian foods that make you fat while there is an equally good choice of low carb, low fat and high protein food. But if you do not like the food, why bother about nutrient value... Just see that you are not forced to eat it...

Who told you that Indian food has more fat, in fact all the spices added to the Indian food is very good for health. If you don't want too much fat in that, avoid those items. Many people are sometimes recommended to eat Indian curries to maintain good health.

i am from India and my parents make me eat Indian food too and i dont really like it either. but it wont make you fat at all, it'll make you a lot healthier."Dal" or lentils, is full of protein, so keep eating Indian food and you shouldnt get fat.

Indian food is typically very spicy, which is the only thing i love about Indian food, but the spice shouldnt make you fat either.

there's some Indian food though that i absolutely love, but those are usually the more oily foods.

how are you forced to eat any food? Indian food from India is very good for your health. I do believe that anything that is eaten should be in moderation. Food should also reflect you and your tastes and personality. If you don;t like Indian food then simply don't eat it. Good Luck!

why should you be forced to eat a particular type of food ? have you married an indian ? just kidding. however, try and understand the beauty, the delicacies, and the positive sides of the indian cuisine. it will never make you fat, use only the desired quantity of oil, that's all.
if the menu is veg., go for rotis, dal, vegetable, salad, that is cucumber, tomatoes, carrots and curds, chutneys, for flavor, roasted papadams, for a little fun, and crunchiness, rice, steamed, or a green peas pulav, and a dessert of kheer, gulab-jamun, or shrikhand, that's yummy !
if non-veg., have egg-curry, mutton curry or chicken masala, or fish fry, rice plain ,steamed, one leafy vegetable, like spinach, or cabbage, bread, salad of radish, onion rings, tomato, slices, and a dessert of dudhi or carrot halwa, that's a god combination.
you may have a clear dal, or green peas soup, to start with, and some pakodas, made from potatoes, or cauliflwer, as starters, if you are having a party, or guests.
always make rotis, or puris , atthe end, and keep them in the tin, serve hot.
try variations for breakfast, with upma, idlis, dosas, dhokla, sheera, poha, etc. you can get these receipes on tarla dalal's site, for delicious indian cooking.
even keith floyd likes to cook , and eat indian food, who has travelled al over the world, then why don't you ?
