Because all people are human. People make mistakes and do things they shouldn;t do. just because a person is a Christian, doesn;t mean they are going to behave just as Jesus did.
The funniest thing about this question is that the ONLY reason they are called hypocrites is because they ARE Christians. When you see a behavior in a Christian that you call hypocritical, what do you call a person who has that same behavior who is NOT a Christian? either way, Christian or not, the behavior is still not ok. (gossipping, lieing, greed, envy...)
Also, if a person is a hypocrite, that is between them and God. IF you worry more about your own behavior than the behavior of others, you'll make sure that you're not a hypocrite.

I do not understand. There was a time whrn peopel would thinl that the African Americans were bad because a few did bad things and then Thank God that changed as it was not a fair analogy. Now I am seeing all christians lumped together as being hypocritical. How fair is that? It is not just christians that are hypocritical but all of mankind. So kindly quit grouping all christians together. Thank You

Well first of all no one is perfect. Once someone becomes a Christian they are still going to sin. Now by sinning that person becomes a hypocrite. So every single christian is a hypocrit because we are still human and as humans we will continue to sin. The best we can hope for is to do our best not to.

Catholicism is in me only contradiction! It inculcates the man that the hell is the The ground, majority of acts inflicting inside the pleasure calls the man the sin... Nothing odd that among Catholics, as and Christians in total, men which are they are strong this sufficiently they would deny, but sale weak they would go away. There in some countries in which Catholicism is national religion, such as Poland, it is this this more difficult because it joins from rejection by society.

Because Christianity is so out of step with what it means to be human. Christianity has a false set of pretenses about the reality of what it means to be human. The whole concept of sin is a problem for most people. It is so black/white that it makes people feel that they can only be a sinner or a saint. Nothing inbetween. The truth is that we are all inbetween. We all have tendency to be greedy and antisocial at times and then to be very compassionate and loving at other times.
The other issue is the idea of rewards in heaven. So, it makes people feel like their actions on earth in the here and now isn't all that important. They can ask for forgiveness on their deathbed and everything will be okay. So, that allows them to feel like it's okay to hurt people as long as they pray for forgiveness or go to a confessional.
Good question and thanks for asking.

So, how do `you` define hypocritical?
Is it because `you` do not agree with some of their beliefs?
Oh, and by the way, there is a big difference between what you refer to as Christians and Catholics...!
I was christened, but I never go to church, but that does not mean I do not believe - but in `your` eyes I`m probably a hypocrit?
anyway enjoy life :-)

what a stupid person you must be! i really feel sorry for you, that you must judge ever person as the being same, because of a common belief...
shall we say all jews are the same, all seeks are the same, all white are the same, all blacks are the same?? No. thats just stupid! just because you have the same religion or colour of skin oe whatever it doesnt suggest we are all clones of each other, each person brings to the table there own life experiance, dreams, hopes, and bagaged.
people are indivduals, and really if you understood the nature of the religion, its states that we are all sinners i.e make mistakes. thats why Jesus died on the cross so that we can be forgiven.
Therefore its normal for people to make mistakes and do things that are wrong, the point is that we learn from them to grow and move forward as a person! who are you to judge an intire religion? is a question you should be asking!

Some Christians are hypocritical, but obviously you are not very educated when it comes to Christianity, and you need to stop making generalizations and stereotyping people.
You don't like it when athiests are bad-mouthed, but you just LOVE bad-mouthing Christians, even when it is totally unnecessary and your info is inaccurate.
I hope you open your eyes to the Truth.
God bless!
