Even though I don't use food for comfort, I will have to admit that the food that I most enjoy is a good hot fresh pie straight out of the oven with ice- cream on top of it. Not just any pie though. It has to be my grandmothers recipe for a apple pie. Of course I have to make it.

Try this one.... Heat up some cream in a microwave and get is warmed through but not too hot then brak up a bar of chocolate and drop the pieces into the cream and melt stirring the cream, when that is done you will have a chocolate sauce and pour it over some fresh softened vanilla ice cream and enjoy

fsm_4all listed one of my favorite meals - lol
But... for comfort food, I'd have to say the bread pudding that they have at Old Country Buffet. It reminds me of my grandmother's except they add that topping to it which makes it even better.
Have you noticed how many folks find comfort in their grandmother's food or because their grandmother made that for them when they were young and ill? I like that so many folks did have some comfort and security in those moments of their childhood. There's a lot of folks on here who didn't seem to have much positive growing up.

I continuously upload vegetables to my chicken dumplings- in spite of ones I happen to have reachable. i've got used carrots, celery, onion, mushroom, squashes, peas, taters (the two many times occurring and candy), sugar peas, spinach, corn, turnips, nicely you get it. I stay faraway from tomatoes however through fact i do in contrast to them in soups. I additionally sense that by including greater broth it takes faraway from the "pot pie" concept you're speaking approximately! EDIT: I hardly serve something with them...possibly fruit if I truly have some to apply up. I make mine the consistency of chili or stew. so a approaches as getting the flavour of the vegetables, nicely, isn't that the element to have flavorful dumplings? Who likes flour and water?
