brush your cat with a flea comb.... it gets down to the lower coat... also check with your vet to make sure its not a problem with nutrition... poor diet can lead to shedding anytime of year

I don't really have an answer for all the cats shedding, but I do have an idea how to maintian it. I have a 14 year old Lab and a 4 year old Husky. Our house is filled with hair all the time. I purchased the Dyson Animal about two years ago now, and it has been the best decision I have ever made. Other vaccums would get clogged with hair, and were a mess. This vaccum although expensive ( I paid $500 ) is well worth the investment.

Cats shed in warmer weather and then gain their coats back for winter protection. Brushing daily helps.

I used to have a cat that had very thick hair. The only thing you can do is brush your cat's hair. By the time summer was over all of my cat's winter hair had finally came out, but at that time his new winter hair was going to start growing back. I hope your poor cat does not have as much hair as my cat did.

Keep on brushing until all the undercoat comes out. Then the cat will be ready to put on the winter coat in a couple of months.

And now is shedding all over. He will be 10 years old in October.

Brushing is really all you can do - when it's very hot like this, shedding is a natural thing.

You need to get to the undercoat. Use a Shed Ender or a lice comb. Anything with a really fine toothed comb pattern.

shedding is natural but go to www.carolwrightgifts.com and buy a brush that you can use that gets hair beneath the overcoat out and that will help if you use it often.
