It is not esprit de corp. It is not corporate identity. It is not one ring to bind them. It is inspiration. When you see beauty, it is the response to love being given back to you from the Truth in everything, but most importantly in people.

You are connected by the beauty of the first morning, and the song of the first bird.

It is all these things: There is a shard of God,dess inside all of us, that would be your Soul.
It is spiritual energy, and bioelectric energy. Dogs know when their owners are coming home, not because they smell them coming, but because they feel that they are close, and feel you thinking of them, and this is dependant on how connected you and your Dog are. So this applies for Humans too, but most of us don't listen to the inner whispers we get.
It is the Force- it does bind us, and surround us, and it is that which drives us, only we don't have PROOF, in a scientific sense, that it exists. We are one- the Collective Unconscious is very turbulent right now; and that is being proven with all the wars scarring our Mother Earth's beautiful face.
It must be Love. And Hate. It is produced by evolution of the Spirit. But it is not wholly evolved yet. we will watch and see...
Because if we are not careful, we will kill our existence on this planet (yet again.) The illusion of separation has not been brought into the light. We are decieved, here on Earth, because being animal (Human) we are not only separated from our Creator, but that one over there, his skin is not the same color as mine. He must be different. He cannot be my Brother.
These are our lessons to be learned.
Check out my answer to your other question, it has much relevance to this question as well. Pasting lyrics again.
Imagine, John Lennon.

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

One day, Maybe.....
Blessed Be.

It could mean anything to any person depending upon the life experience of said person. I can only speak to the question as myself. To me, it signifies that a single consciousness is attributed to many people. Such as if I were to join a team, I would consent to the rules of behavior and submit myself to the deal. Unfortunately, we are not all one, we are diversified with many facets based on behavior. I suspect the author of said expression believes that we are all on this 3rd rock and must live together. War divides us as a species. Harmony is a vibration via concerted effort of a group of instruments. I like to whistle and sing, but rarely with anyone else.

a few ways to answer this

we are all one in a universal consciousness ( Carl Jung theory )

we are all one .. all spirit in a physical body belonging to a universal god figure

we are all one .. when you talk about the similarities in DNA etc tracing our ancestors back to the same source

i could go on but i think you get the general idea ... whatever way you look at it .. whatever your beliefs , you could probably find some way in believing we are all one
